7 Lovely Ways to Stay Young and Beautiful ...

I’m always looking for ways to stay young and beautiful. I purchase all of the best products, do plenty of research, and put the research into practice to make sure that even though my age may change, my skin and health do not. I wear SPF hats at the beach, I set goals for myself, I treat myself to massages... you name it and I’ve done it. In today’s day and age, there are so many tips and ways to stay young.

1. Stress Less

Stress causes changes in the body that can accelerate aging. Today, when our stressors seem never ending, the usual job or school pressure, traffic, packing for a trip, the adrenaline starts pumping and surges of cortisol take a serious toll on our physical and emotional health. When the world seems to be folding, meditate, treat yourself to a massage, participate in Pilates, or take a hot yoga class. The older you get, the better understanding you have of your body and therefore, you’ll know which exercises will work and release the tension and stress.

2. Moisturize

Avoid a future expensive trip to a surgeon and start moisturizing your skin daily. Resort to anti-aging moisturizers before going for the laser treatment or other surgical procedures. There are definitely must-moisturize times. The two must-moisturize times are in the AM, after your morning wash up and at night, after brushing your teeth before heading to bed. Anti-aging moisturizers are a huge deal. These moisturizers do not only smooth and moisturize the skin, but also work to prevent wrinkles and improve cell turnovers.

3. Move More

Start pumping some iron, cycling, jogging, stretching, dancing, whatever it may be, just start! The benefits of exercise include toned muscles, weight loss, healthier bones, and a clear mind. When you condition your body, you’re reducing the stress and anxiety that may be aging you. Yoga will help with posture, flexibility, and stress. Yoga is not only a body workout, but a mind workout too. The breathing done in a yoga session has been shown to oxygenate the cells, which rids the cells of toxins, making the skin radiant. Exercising each day, no matter what it may be, will allow you to be able to bend, twist, and lift objects around your home even as you get older.

4. Positivity

Keep the goals you’ve had forever and look forward to what the future has to offer, even if time is ticking. The outlook you have and how you feel about the future will actually affect how long you live. If you look forward to the future, like how you do now, when you do grow old, your positive attitude will contribute to your happiness and livelihood. Do all of the activities that keep you happy. It can be dancing as if no one is looking or singing your heart out; whatever it may be, plaster that winning smile on your face and stay positive.

5. Travel

Traveling is the key to a healthy, open mind, so why stop? You are only as old as you feel. If your excuse is that you’re too old to travel, then you will convince yourself that you are indeed too old. The key to psychological health is how you feel. Stop using that excuse that you are too old and just go. See what the world has to offer you and you will discover what you have to offer to the world. Tell yourself you feel great and can take that plane ride and believe or not, you’ll be able to travel and experience the things you never thought you’d be able to.

6. Munch on Super-Fruits

A handful of blueberries, a dish full of pomegranates, or even a scoop of goji berries are beneficial to keeping you young and looking beautiful. Blueberries contribute greatly to the body’s antioxidant activity. The antioxidants found in blueberries protect cells from being attacked and damaged. Blueberries may also slow age-related mental discipline. Recent studies have found that pomegranates lower cholesterol and blood pressure and protect the skin from damage caused by UV rays. Goji berries are known to stimulate the release of human growth hormone. This natural substance in the body improves our ability to sleep, helps us look younger, reduces fat, and enhances the immune system.

7. Sunscreen

Apply and reapply sunscreen throughout the day. Even if you are not spending much time outdoors or in the sun, it is so important to start your day with putting on sunscreen. Sunscreen doesn’t only protect you from the awfully painful sunburns, that are common when spending the day outside, it also prevents premature aging and skin cancer. The sun is known to cause wrinkling and spotting. Research has found that sunscreen has many anti-aging properties. Start the day right by lathering on some sunscreen to keep you and your skin looking young.

Not only will the suggestions keep you young, but they will also keep you healthy. Not only is applying sunscreen in the morning before leaving the house, planting a solid smile on your face, and traveling just to travel beneficial for staying young; it is extremely beneficial for your health as well. There is a strong correlation between the two. By incorporating just some of the listed suggestions, you’ll be able to see the difference in yourself and realize that even as the years progress there are ways to stay young whether it be in looks or in how you feel. How do you choose to stay young?
